Frontier Dominion

Frontier Dominion asks you to settle a harsh frontier, balance food and defense, and slowly expand against rival clans. It is slower than most mobile strategy games, and that is the point. You set plans in motion and check back, rather than tapping buttons every thirty seconds.

The tech tree is generous and the diplomacy actually matters. We spent one whole campaign avoiding war entirely by trading our way to dominance, and the game let that strategy work. That kind of flexibility is rare on mobile.

It stumbles a little with its menus, which are cramped on smaller phones, but the underlying game is smart. If you like thinking a few turns ahead, this one will hold you.
